Mentone Relays Open Day - 2010

We had a wonderful day on Sunday at Mentone with parents & children all enjoying themselves despite the cold and wet weather, it was good to see the sun come out once we had completed the packing up! The parents were very helpful and supportive on the day (as were the children). I really appreciated the help and support from the committee members who attended, especially Peter as Assistant Team Manager who was outstanding and made the smooth running of the day possible.

Casey entered 45 teams with us only having to scratch 5 teams on the day due to the assistance of athletes running up age groups.

The competition at the u9, U10, u11 & u12 was very competitive and it was great to see so many Casey teams make the finals and place especially with athletes running up age groups to fill teams. E.g. The U11G B team qualified for the finals coming 8th which was fantastic when it was running with an U9 girl. The U10 girls B team also did very well considering it had two u9 girls and one U7 girl running as members of the team.
