Region Track & Field Championships
2009 /2010 - Newborough

This Championship is an individual competition for athletes in the Under 9 to Under 15 Age Groups for boys and girls. All athletes must compete at their Region Championship to qualify or be progressed to the State Championship.
Region Championships are held on Sunday 21st
February 2010.

The Region Track and Field Championship is conducted on one day only this year. There are nineteen (19) different events which are conducted at this Championship.  Athletes can choose what events they would like to compete in.  Athletes can compete in a maximum of four (4) events.

Events conducted include:

  • 70m
  • 100m
  • 200m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • 1500m
  • High Jump
  • Long Jump
  • Triple Jump
  • Shot Put
  • Discus
  • Javelin
  • 60m Hurdles
  • 80m Hurdles
  • 90m Hurdles
  • 100m Hurdles
  • 300m Hurdles
  • 1100m Walk
  • 1500m Walk

Approximately 4,500 children compete at Region Championships around the State

Eligibility for Casey L.A.C. Track & Field

Note: Athletes must have competed on four (4) competition days at the Casey Centre prior to the Region Track and Field Championship to be eligible.

Entry Forms will be provided to each family in the Family communication folders. Hand this form and payment to Dawn Gilpin at the Entry Table in the Netball rooms prior to Friday 11th December 2009.

Dates:          Region Track and Field Championship are held on Sunday February 21st 2010 at Newborough

                  Entry Fee:  $5 per event per athlete  

Parents/Guardians: You must be available for duty, which is approximately 2 hours at Region and State Championships  

Uniform: Casey Little Athletics Centre uniform is to be worn. This uniform can be hired or purchased from the Centre.

Closing date for entries is Friday 11th December 2009 - no late entries will be accepted.


Parents/Guardians: You must be available for duty, which is approximately 1 1/2 hours in total, per duty, at Region and State Championships, please attend the Casey tent at least 15 minutes prior to your duty commencing to sign on.

Would all families attending Region, please ensure they attend the Casey Little Aths club on Wednesday 17 Feb 2010 at the twilight event, starting at around 5pm, if they have not attended prior, to sign off their duties for region.

Any family that has been assigned the walk judge duty is not not required to perform that duty as we have a qualified judge who will perform the role". An alternative duty assisting with the triple jump pit has been assigned for the same time.
