Weather

The current weather forcast for Melbourne from the BOM.

WET WEATHER INFORMATION
The Program will be modified on days which have been affected by wet weather.
Hurdle, High Jumps, Shot put and any event deemed to be unsafe will be substituted with running events so as to provide a full morning program as far as possible.

Saturday morning competition is only cancelled if there is, or will be, substantial rainfall at the starting time.
Decisions to cancel are delayed until the last possible minute in order to avoid unnecessary cancellations of the Seasons Programs during the changeable spring/summer weather.

Have a hot cuppa while you wait!

On any days that competition is cancelled due to bad weather, Casey LAC will be offering a Cross Country Program. It is expected to take 30 minutes. Athletes need to meet at the track at 9.00 am.

HOT WEATHER INFORMATION
On days forecast to be very hot the Program will be modified to bring forward long distance events to the beginning of the days events. In extreme situations events may be substituted or cancelled.

Read advice on how to beat the heat.

For the best protection against UV radiation:

1. Slip on some sun protective clothing – that covers as much skin as possible.
2. Slop on SPF30+ sunscreen – make sure it is broad spectrum and water resistant. Put it on 20 minutes before you go outdoors and every two hours afterwards. Sunscreen should never be used to extend the time you spend in the sun.
3. Slap on a hat – that protects your face, head, necks and ears.
4. Seek shade.
5. Slide on some sunglasses – make sure they meet Australian Standards.
