Cross Country

Start of Season Info - 2010

Venue
: Edwin Flack Reserve-Manuka Rd Berwick. Melways Map 111 H7.

Start Date: Most Saturdays from April 17th through to the end of July, with the VLAA State XC Championships at Geelong Racecourse - Geelong on Sunday 1st August 2010.
Check the Cross Country calendar for details.

Time: 8:45am Warm up and Stretches. Race starts at 9:00am. (Rain Hail or Shine)
All races finished by approximately 10:30 am.

Cost: Nil for currently registered VLAA athletes.
$35 for new winter registrations this provides athlete insurance.

Approximate Distances:

Under 6-8s - 1000 metre circuit (1 Lap)
Under 9-12s- 2000 metres (2 Laps)
Under 13-15s, Interaths and Open - 3000metres (3 Laps)
(Athletes are welcome to run shorter or longer distances on the day of normal Casey Competitions)

Parents are most welcome to run with their children or on their own. However parents must sign our Centre indemnity form (as they are not covered by VLAA insurance).

Our Cross Country Program this year will include competing at Pakenham, Dandenong, Knox and Cockatoo and State Cross Country Championships at Geelong.


A copy of the Cross Country Calendar will be available for all athletes during the first weeks of competition.

Canteen: The Casey canteen will be operating on competition days. Tea, Coffee, Milo and some snacks will be available for purchase.

Cross Country
Casey Little Athletics at the Little Athletics Victoria State Cross Country Championships
Last Sunday 1st August 2010, 20 Casey Little Athletes traveled to Geelong Race Course for the Little Athletics Victoria State Cross Country Championships. All the athletes performed at their best with great results.

Overall we had some exceptional results with Charlotte Jagusch U/13 girl winning a Gold medal,and Joshua Daniell U/9 boy winning a Bronze medal in the individual events.

Bronze Team medals went to the under 10 girls Felicity Jagusch, Shimona Albuquerque, Alyssa Prosser.
Well Done to all athletes.


Cross Country
Casey Little Athletics held their Championship Day
Casey Little Athletics held their Championship Day on Saturday with a great turnout of Athletes from Casey, Cranbourne and Narre Warren Little Athletics Centres. All Athletes performed exceptionally well on their final Cross Country program at Casey for 2010. Many Athletes were awarded with medals and ribbons for their efforts on the day and were also presented with a trophy for participating in the Cross Country Season for 2010. Casey, Narre Warren, Cranbourne Little athletes braved the windy conditions for the short course of Cross Country last Saturday
10th July.

Only two more cross country days remaining at Casey for the season.
This Saturday 17th July starts at 9am and our Championship and Presentation Day on Saturday 24th July also starts at 9am.


Cross Country
A strong group of Casey Little athletes traveled to Wantirna South on Saturday for the Knox Little Athletics Cross Country Open Day. Many athletes across the State were in attendance, with tough competition Casey athletes performed exceptionally well with some athletes bringing home medals. The Casey Cross Country Team came 2nd in total team points. An outstanding result from all the athletes.



 Cross Country
Last Saturday saw the Athletes slog it out in very wet and muddy conditions from the overnight rain. All athletes did a tremendous job on the hard hill course.

This week Saturday 3rd July, there will be no Cross Country at the Casey track as all the atheletes are going to the Knox Little Athletics Open Day, Nortons Park, Wantirna South Mel Ref 72A2.


Cross Country
Last Saturday Casey Little Athletics centre traveled to Pakenham for their "Make a friend day" A challenging mornings competition was had by all competitors with great results.

Next Saturday's (26th) program is back at the Casey track for the long course.

The following week (3rd July) Cross Country will be held at Wantina South for the Knox Little Athletics Open Day. For entry forms see Rod or Kaz.

The Long Weekend saw a small group of dedicated Cross Country runners from; Casey, Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Dandenong endure the wet, muddy conditions of Casey's Little Athletics short course.

This Saturday 19th June Cross Country will be held at Pakenham for their "Make A Friend Day" at Lilypond House, Duncan Drive, Pakenham (MEL 317 B7).

Casey Little Athletics Cross Country held a footy colours day on Saturday. It was great to see lots of athletes and parents wearing their favourite team colours while running the long hill course.

This Saturday (12th June) is the short course at Casey and the following week on the 19th June the Cross Country program will be held at Pakenham for their "Make A Friend Day" at Lilypond House, Duncan Drive, Pakenham (MEL 317 B7)


Cross Country
Casey Athletes joined Dandenong Little Athletics for their Dandenong Challenge Day on Saturday. The overnight rain made the Cross Country Course wet and added to the Challenge for the Athletes. All Casey athletes performed very well in the conditions with many recieving placegetter ribbons.

This Saturday is our Footy Colours Day back at Edwin Flack Reserve. Athletes and parents are encouraged to wear their favourite team colours on the day.


Cross Country
A crisp and frosty morning attracted many centre's to Casey Little Athletics Centre Challenge Day on Saturday. With over 150 athletes competing the competition was tough with many ages of athletes and parents tackling the 'Casey Hill'. Athletes completed the course successfully and were all awarded with ribbons.
 

This Saturday there will be no Cross Country at Casey as we are all invited to Dandenong for their Challenge Day. This will be at Robert Booth Reserve, Bess Court, Dandenong Mel 90 G6. Please arrive by 9am to walk the course, first race starts at 9.30am. Limited parking available. Any queries, please contact Rod on 9796 7104


Cross Country
A strong attendance of 98 Athletes participated in the short course at Casey Little Athletics Centre on Saturday. With a very wet track athletes had to run through puddles to finish the race.

This week on Saturday 22 May 2010 Casey Little Athletics centre is holding it's annual Casey Challenge Day where a number of other little athletic centres will be participating at the Casey Cross Country Track at Edwin Flack Reserve.

Casey Cross Country races start at 9am. Warm up at 8.45am. BBQ and canteen will be operating on the day.
Training for Cross Country is on Thursday night's at the Casey Athletics Track, Edwin Flack Reserve Manuka Road, Berwick from 4.45pm.

Choose from one of the following distances:- Under 6 to Under 8's for 1km, Under 9 to Under 12's for 2km, Under 13 to Open for 3km

Cross Country Season Finishes.

Casey Little Athletics Centre combined with Narre Warren Little Athletics Centre to hold it's final Cross Country competition and Presentation day on Saturday 15th August 2009 in warm sunny conditions.

It was a great way to finish the season. We started the morning off with the Mum & Dad's 900mtr race with all the children cheering their parents on. Then is was time for the kids to show the Mum's & Dad's how to really run with all the athletes achieving fantastic results for their final run! All athletes received a medal or ribbon for their achievements.

Rod Prime (Casey) and Steve Fenton (Narre Warren) Cross Country Co-ordinators thanked both the parents and athletes for their help and support throughout the season. They also farewelled four Under 15 Athletes in their final season of Little Athletics Stephanie Fenton, Jessica Prime, Nicole Hallett and Tom Watson.

First Race: 9:00am Mums & Dads 900m …..Followed by kids races Casey presentations should commence around 10:15am & Finish by 11.30am.

To compete in the Championship Day Athletes must have competed in at least 6 programs over the Cross Country season.

Cross Country - VLAA Road Relays
Last Saturday afternoon, 1st August 2009, Casey Little Athletics centre had 5 teams compete at Sandown Race Track in the VLAA road relays.
All the athletes had a great experience running on the racing car track with their team mates.
The results from the afternoon were;

U7 Girls. 13:36 - 1st

U8 Girls. 14:15 - 3rd

A fantastic effort by all athletes involved. This Saturday, 15th August 2009, is Casey Little Athletics Championship and Presentation day with Narre Warren Little Athletics centre.The program will comence at 8.45am warm ups with the Mum's & Dads 900m race being the first event of the morning. Following the races there will be presentations made to all athletes that have qualified during the Cross Country Season.

2009 VLAA State Cross Country Championships
36 Athletes from Casey Little Athletics competed at the State Little Athletics Championship at Bundoora on Sunday 26th July. It was a fantastic effort from all athletes who were up against some top competition. Congratulations to all participants. The results that were achieved on the day can be seen here.


Cross Country Winners - Knox Cross Country Open Day
On Saturday 4th July, 45 Athletics from Casey Little Athletics Centre traveled to Nortons Park Wantirna for their annual Knox Cross Country Open Day.

The day started with light rain which cleared up to a sunny day. All the athletes performed exceptionally well with many Casey Little Athletes awarded individual and team medals. Casey Little Athletic Centre was awarded the Perpetual Trophy for the first time over last years winners Lilydale / Yarra Ranges. Cockatoo Challenge Day

Saturday 1st August 2009 Casey Little Athletics will be joining Cockatoo for the Cockatoo Challenge Day at Cockatoo Sports Complex, Mountain Road, Cockatoo. MEL 311 K3
Athletes are to register from 9.00am, the first race starts at 10am.


SMR Cross Country Challenge
This is held on Saturday 27th June 2009 at Moorooduc.if you wish to enter the SMR X.C.Challenge , entries close 4pm Sunday 14th June .
Entries for SMR challenge day need to be entered and paid to Karen Prime or Coralie Nelson by Saturday 13 June, 2009. (Next cross country day).
Entry forms for this event will be available from Saturday 30th May & Casey X.C.and available here soon.

Knox Open day
Knox entries need to be finalised and paid by 27 June, 2009 to Karen or Coralie.

National Cross Country & Walks Championship Results
The National Cross Country Championship was held at Eastern Park in Geelong from 22nd to 25th August 2008. It was a fantastic weekend of results by all athletes competing against the best athletes in Australia.

Samantha Prime finished 1st to become National Champion for 13 year old girls and the Victorian Team was awarded the Gold medal.
Charlie Jagusch came 4th & Jessica Cox came 10th for 11 year old girls and were also awarded Team Gold Medals.
Jordan Nelson finished 9th in the Boys 16 - 17 years age group and won a Team Silver Medal.
Siobhan Jagusch was recovering from illness and completed the race well.

Jade Sanders came 4th in the National walks held on Sunday 24th August, at Albert Park Lake and won the Team Gold Medal.

All these athletes are proud members of Casey Little Athletics Centre.
Congratulations to all the athletes that competed at the National Cross Country and Walks Championships.


10th August 2008
Cross Country

On Saturday 9th August, Casey Little Athletics had it's Cross Country Championship and Presentation Day to finish another successful season of Cross Country running. A fun morning was had by all athletes and parents with a special guest 'Casey Clown' coming to cheer on the young athletes in their 1000m race. All Children were excited as they wanted to beat 'Casey Clown' to the finish line. Parents joined in on the fun too, with a special 1000m adult race. Presentation of Championship medals and Trophies were awarded to athletes on the day.
Rod thanked all the parents that helped make the cross country run smoothly over the season and congratulated all Athletes on their fantastic efforts.
Just a reminder, Registration days for the coming Track & Field season will be held in the morning of Saturday 20th and 27th of September, 2008 At Edwin Flack Reserve. Manuka Road, Berwick.

Cross Country

On Sunday the 3rd August, 2008 Casey Little Athletics centre competed in the Victorian State Cross Country Championships at Lardner Park - Warragul with exceptional results. The track was very muddy and challenging.
All Casey Athletes put in a fantastic effort to compete against all the other centres in the State.
Casey Athletics came home with 3 Individual Gold Medals and 2 Team Medals.

Casey Centre Cross Country
Championships & Presentation Day
This Saturday, 9th August 2008, is the Casey Championship & Presentation day, We have two events for the parents to join in on the day, a short 1km run or a challenging 3km run. This is the last day of our Cross Country program.
This will be held at the Edwin Flack Reserve, Manuka Road, Berwick, Warm Up 9.15am –Race Starts at 9.30am. Come and celebrate our Cross Country Season with a final run followed by presentation of Medals and Ribbons. Athletes must have competed in at least 6 competition days over the Cross Country Season.

Many of our 'young' Casey Little Athletes attended our Casey Cross Country competition on Saturday July 26th.
We would like to congratulate all the Casey Athletes that competed for their school at the "All Schools Cross Country Championship" at Bundoora. 'Casey Little Athletics' had a great turnout on Saturday 19 July with fantastic results leading up to the State Competition.
This Saturday is the last normal Cross Country event at Casey for all athletes.
