SMR Coaching Camp

The 2008 SMR Coaching Camp is held on November 21st -23rd at Merricks Camp and Conference Centre, 3670 Frankston/Flinders Road, Merricks.

As well as specific coaching at Centre level, a coaching camp is conducted by the Southern Metropolitan Region.

This camp is subsidised by the Victorian Little Athletics Association and is conducted over a weekend.

Children generally arrive on the Friday night and depart on the Sunday afternoon.

The camp caters for the under 9 to 16 Age Groups. It provides expert coaching by AFTCA (Australian Track and Field Coaches Association) Level 1 & 2 coaches in all of the Track and Field events available for Little Athletics.

Volunteering camp parents supervise the athletes during the weekend activities and have as much fun as the kids.

As well as coaching sessions there is also a range of recreational activities, which includes basketball, volleyball and swimming.

This is a great chance for athletes to mix with athletes from other Centres in our Region, as well as having a fun learning weekend.

Information and entry forms will be provided to each family in the communication files.
